A Break Up

When this happens, you might think life is unfair;
When you lost the person you loved, when you lost the flare.

Everything hurts, inside and out;
When you regret every decision you've made, when you wish you took a different route.

Your heart feels like its in shambles, decaying by the minute;
Felt like its been stomped on, beaten, like someone hit it.

Every second feels like an hour;
It gets worse, to the point you start crying in your shower.

Hearing the words you'd thought you would never hear;
Coming from the person you loved, it was your biggest fear.

Slowly the pain, turns you into someone who's numb;
Not knowing what to do, when you can no longer hum.

You start feeling like you're no longer worthy of love;
Sometimes you start disbelieving about the one up above.

It doesn't get easier, when you start feeling better;
Something might pop up, like a conversation or a letter.

Your feelings start rushing back, igniting your spark;
But then its just hope, and you'll be back in the dark.

When you can no longer talk to the person you once used to;
You'd have to force yourself to throw the feelings that once grew.

Everyone has chances to fix what they broke;
But sometimes not everyone gets chances, it might just provoke.

Its painful letting go of someone who you cared deeply for;
But seeing the person let you go, hurts more.

You start ignoring everyone and everything around you;
Wishing it was a dream, wish there was something you could do.

But nothing could fix what has been done;
All you can do is move on, all you can do is run.

Its hard to do, and it seems so impossible and unreal;
Not with the things you're thinking, the things you feel.

So far it still hurts, as much as it did when it first started;
When it started to go wrong, when his feelings departed.

A break up will never be easy;
Thinking about it might make you feel wheezy.

Reaching out to find closure, to meet for the last time;
And when he declines, it feels like you committed a crime.

All you want is to be happy, with him and him alone;
But it will never happen, he doesn't love you anymore, he has grown.

And all you can do is accept the fate that has been written;
Accept the mistakes and forget the times you were smitten.

Let the tears flow out, even if they feel endless;
To the point you're tired, and you feel breathless.

When you don't know when the pain might eventually end;
At least you'd have yourself, for you are there to tend.

A break up hurts, the pain unbearable;
But one day the pain will stop, it won't feel so terrible.

Everything comes to an end, even lovers;
But everything will be okay, you can recover.

When everything might seem dim and dark;
one day you'll find the light, you'll find the spark.
